POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Rabbit Lake safety, health, environment and quality group, you will have the unique opportunity to work for the longest operating uranium production facility in North America.
You will be responsible for carrying out environmental compliance monitoring activities such as collecting, preparing and shipping environmental samples, data entry and synthesis, and report preparation. You will be required to conduct environmental site inspections and assist in wildlife management activities and programs, as well as assist with environmental emergency response and providing support during environmental events.
In addition, you will assist in providing training and information to employees on environmental issues and environmental aspects of the operation.
This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of 14 months.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Environmental monitoring technician certificate or diploma in a related field
Minimum of six months of relevant work experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as problem-solving abilities
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
An understanding of governing acts, procedures and policies that apply to the work area
Field experience, including operation and maintenance of trucks, boats, snowmobiles, and all-terrain vehicles and any related operator training/certification
Computer experience, including data entry, database and Microsoft Office
