Description

The Bookkeeper reports to the general manager of the Company, and provides support to the administration staff.  The Bookkeeper is the key person involved in executing all accounting related duties.This is a 1 year maternity leave coverage position.

Duties
- Communicate positive ideas and work effectively with all employees.
- Follow and Promote Peters Excavating Policies and Procedures.
- Accounts receivable including invoicing, collections, and customer inquiries.
- Handle payments on account and prepare bank deposits.
- Distribute and reconcile petty cash.
- General ledger entries.
- Prepare month end information.
- Government filings and payments including source deductions, GST, PST and income tax installments.
- Job costing.
- All payroll functions including employee benefits, RRSPs and ROEs.

Requirements
- SIAST Business Accountancy Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 2 years accounting experience, fixed asset and internal use software accounting experience is a plus
- Proficient Excel skills and exposure to accounting software packages and report writers.
- Experience with ACCPAC.
