Job Description: The incumbent is accountable for the effective operation of the Regional Scheduling Service and the provision of the highest quality scheduling services within the Heartland Health Region. This includes responsibility for managing, planning, supporting and directing day-to-day scheduling functions to ensure the accurate scheduling of staff and payment of wages and benefits. The position is vital in the provision of efficient, consistent, and timely scheduling and payroll services to managers and staff while maintaining a customer service focus. All processes must meet legal requirements, collective bargaining requirements and regional standards. Responsibilities also include ensuring that the financial requirements for the Canadian Revenue Agency, union collective agreements, and the auditors are met efficiently.
Activities in this area include: implementing best practices, assisting in the development, documentation and maintenance of regional scheduling guidelines, practices and procedures; monitoring adherence to collective agreements, promoting a responsive service specific to inquiries and concerns, and recommending solutions and strategies to minimize risk and enhance service. Scheduling solutions that minimize risk will take into consideration the four (4) dimensions of quality: high risk, high volume, high cost and problem prone.
Required Qualifications
Business Diploma from a recognized Post Secondary Institution
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of previous computerized scheduling experience in a unionized health care or related environment
Experience with Gateway Online, iHRIS and ESP preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced computer skills
Ability to travel both
