Job Description: The Nurse Clinician (NC) is an expert clinical nurse who integrates experience, advanced level skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct client/patient/resident care, assessment of needs, clinical coordination and problem solving, client/patient/resident and staff education and participation in research for a defined group of clients/patients/families.

The NC position requires skill in collaborative consultation with the Clinical Nursing Specialist in Cardiosciences, the Manager of Nursing for Cardiosciences, multidisciplinary healthcare team members and physicians to provide seamless coordination of clinical planning, therapeutic activities and client/patient/resident interventions for cardiosciences patients on Unit 6000.  This may include participating in policy and procedure development, performing quality improvement and participating in the education of nursing staff on Unit 6000.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current BCLS certification
Experience
Requires 5 years recent full time experience in specific clinical area
