The Regina Work Preparation Centre (Work Prep) is a nonprofit, charitable, community based organization helping people look for, find, and maintain work. Work Prep is looking for an energetic and creative people-person who will:
deliver person-centred services within a flexible and responsive team environment;
facilitate Group-based Employability training to assist youth to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make a successful transition to the labour market or return to school;
provide vocational counselling including client assessment and ongoing case management.
The successful candidate will:
have an aptitude for assessing needs and supporting clients to identify their individual goals and strengths, develop a career action plan and overcome barriers to success;
have a strong understanding of the principles and practice related to career and employment services targeted at youth (16-30) and an understanding of current labour market needs;
be able to develop and deliver group curriculum for young adult learners based on the needs of employers and employees;
have a commitment to delivering services that are culturally sensitive and reflect our client demographic and needs.
We are looking for the following education and experience:
postsecondary degree or certification in Adult Education, Social Work or a relevant Social Science
minimum two years related experience
combination of education and experience may be considered
Motivational Interviewing Level 1 &2 or willingness to acquire
Reality Therapy/Choice Theory Certificate or willingness to acquire
valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
