POSITION AUTHORITY:
Responsible for crisis intervention in a full range of human and social problems. Follow-up and Support services: Piwapan Women's Centre (past/present clients) and community members facing family violence. Suicide Intervention Services. Sexual Assault Crisis Services-Intervention and Referral Services. Information and Referral Services. Direct Client Support Services. Translation Services. Reports to the Executive Director.
DUTIES/CRITICAL FACTORS:
Responsible for:
-working with On-Reserve agencies to address family violence through presentations
-facilitate Community Programs: Little Kukom's Club
-providing support and non-judgmental listening in the areas of problem solving, decision making and mediation by telephone and in person to residents, for residents and potential clients
-follow-up and home visits with clients, women and their families who have stayed at the Piwapan Women?s Centre returning to on-reserve residence
-direct client support services
-maintain record, reports and forms
-maintain statistical information on outreach and crisis call clients
-attend scheduled staff meetings
-developing program material relevant to clients' needs
-conducting Community/Group presentations to La Ronge Area and Northern Communities On Reserve
-mental health crisis services, suicide intervention, sexual assault crisis and referral for appropriate services
-all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director relevant to the AANDC Program Contract
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-Completed post-secondary education, preferably in the field of Social Work or Human Justice
-At least 2 or more years experience in the field of human services
-Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
Rate of pay: $24.96 an hour
