The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) protects consumer interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial marketplace regulation. The FCAAs Consumer Credit Division is seeking a Financial Institutions Officer to join our team.
As the successful candidate, you will carry out a variety of tasks licensing and regulating payday lenders, trust and loan companies, and mortgage brokerages. You will be responsible for reviewing license applications to assess whether applicants meet criteria for licensing, and recommending suitable applicants for authorization to operate in Saskatchewan. You will be involved in carrying out examinations of licensed entities ensuring they maintain compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. You will also respond to inquiries and investigate complaints from consumers.
Typically the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a university degree in business administration or commerce or equivalent along with several years of progressive experience in the financial services industry. Experience in a lending environment would be a definite asset.
