TC Media, a member of the TC Transcontinental group, is one of Canadas leading publishers of community newspapers. In total, we publish over 170 papers across Canada, reaching an average of 6.9 million readers each week. We currently have an opening for a Reporter/Photographer to be based at our Moose Jaw office. This position will provide remote support for our weekly papers throughout Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Regional Managing Editor, you will be responsible for covering a broad spectrum of issues and beats, reporting on events throughout the region, and taking photos and videos to accompany stories. We are looking for a dedicated individual who can produce content on the issues and stories that resonate with the community and exceed the expectations of online and print readers.  The flexibility for travel throughout the province is an expectation of this role.

Desired talent:

-You have strong writing and communication skills
-A love of community stories and need to know whats happening today
-The ability to work under tight deadlines and have many plates spinning at once
-A curious and good humored nature
-Able to comfortably handle photography and well as video storytelling
-Someone who can quickly adapt new skills, including posting to media websites
-Experience in journalism and completion of a related diploma or degree are always an asset, through were looking for a great local storyteller, who cares about this community and wants to share lives lived
