Description

The Learning Disabilities Association in Saskatoon is looking to hire another ADHD/Life Coach. The ideal candidate will possess a degree (and experience) in Social Work, or comparative experience (resource teacher, counselor, etc)and be someone who enjoys working with both children and adults.

The coach creates a safe environment that encourages honest and open communication. This environment exists on a foundation of unconditional acceptance of the client coupled with information and instruction about ADHD. The coach becomes the clients champion, reinforcing and reminding them of their natural talents and successes.

The coach focuses on identifying and acknowledging the natural talents of the individual within a safe structured environment. Then the coach & client develop a plan to convert those talents into daily strengths. Ultimately, coaching can help a client with motivation, organization, academics, and other life skills that encourage them to succeed.

 

Skills and Abilities

Specific Skills
 - Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services
 - Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs
 - Implement behaviour management programs
 - Conduct individual and group counselling sessions
 - Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
 - Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
