Description

Warm Welcome, a winter sheltering program based out of St. Paul's United Church and the Salvation Army, is seeking a Director of Hospitality for the 2015-2016 season which runs from November to mid-April.  The successful applicant will have experience with working alongside and supervising diverse groups of people, display a confident, positive, non-judgmental and hospitable attitude at all times.  He or she should possess compassion towards all people, good listening and communication skills and have the ability to remain professional and calm under pressure in the rare event of an emergency or conflict. Valid First Aid, and a working knowledge of Estevan resources and helping agencies would be an asset to this position. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who can commit to working only for the Warm Welcome Shelter throughout the 2015-2016 season as their sole employment.  A criminal record check is required.  This flexible position offers a paid hourly wage of $15 per hour and will consist of approximately 500-800 hours over the 5-6 month period.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-    Supervising the nightly operations of the program at least 3 nights per week from November 15 - April 15, (8 p.m. to 8 a.m.)
-    Scheduling shift captains for the remaining nights of the week
-    Recruitment, organization and scheduling of reliable volunteers to fill all positions to ensure proper coverage during all shifts
-    Maintaining a non-judgmental environment and hospitality for shelter guests and volunteers
-    Keeping track of supplies and inventory
-    Establishing and maintaining good communication with the  board about celebrations and challenges within the shelter
-    Maintaining organized, complete and up to date client records
-    Ability to familiarize themselves with and follow the Incident Management Plan, maintaining accurate log books
-    Other duties as assigned
