Managing all aspects of construction projects
Ensuring the successful completion of the project, on time, to required quality standards and profitable
Ensuring an ongoing, positive relationship with clients
Contributing as necessary to the pre-construction process by determining project scope, planning and estimating
Monitoring/controlling construction progress and costs through administrative direction of on-site project personnel
Investigating potentially serious situations and implementing corrective measures
Managing financial aspects of contracts to protect the companys interests
Developing, recommending and implementing the project plan after the project is awarded
Selecting subcontractors and negotiating subcontracts for projects
Resolving disputes on the project. If not possible, advising and involving Operations Management to effect resolution
Identifying required and optional changes in project scope; negotiating change orders with the owner
Maintaining safety standards in all aspects of each project
Qualifications/Experience:
Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering degree preferred
More than 5 years experience at a comparable responsibility level in the commercial/civil construction industry
Experience in a variety of commercial and institutional projects working with a large General Contractor managing projects with a value of $15m and upwards
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, materials, negotiation, engineering, estimating, scheduling and safety)
