The Employment Advisor provides employment advising to students, as well as develops and maintains relationships with employers in the area to create, maximize and provide opportunities for students. This position follows-up with existing SIIT students and alumni, updating databases, generating reports and other administrative duties for the department.
*Provide employment advising for SIIT students
*Assist SIIT students and graduates as they transition into new work environments and follow up with graduates to track employment
*Plan and assist in case management processes for SITAG funded students who participate in SIIT Programs
*Plan and facilitate information sharing sessions related to student employability; interview preparedness,resume writing.
*Correspond with the student body.
*Mentor and guide the Student Leadership Council
*Assist department requirements by preparing reports.
*Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of information as it relates to students, employers, the Institute, and other third parties
*Maintain student database, and coordinate the flow of data to meet reporting requirements
*Coordinate and report student, employment and graduation data, as well as end results

Required Qualifications & Experience: A post-secondary degree or diploma in the human service field. A minimum of two years experience in career services, employment staffing, out placement services or human resources experience in the corporate sector. Experience in Career Advising and/or counseling.Incumbent must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation as travel may be required.
