Salvation Army Resident Advisor and Mental Health Worker Casual Work Opportunity
Understanding of the dynamics of mental illness and addictions behavior and provide thorough assessment and documentation of needs and risks
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal with internal and external contact
TASK LIST
Facilitate a stable and supportive living environment for all residents
Ensure all residents are abiding by the rules of facility
Record activities, routine happenings, as well as incidents during shifts in a factual and concise manner, using the provided log book and incident report forms.
Conduct curfew checks, room inspections and bed checks as required.
The incumbent exercises considerable initiative and is able to carry out the position duties with minimal direction and day to day supervision
Foster a therapeutic environment and deescalate potentially violent situations including verbal aggression
Will provide effective medication administration; on the job training provided for same
