Above and Beyond Autism Consulting Services (ABACS) is seeking a Lead Instructor Therapist to work with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a centre-based program. As a part of ABACS, the Lead IT oversees individualized programs, completes assessments, evaluates the effectiveness of each childs program, assists in the training and supervision of ITs and works directly with learners diagnosed with autism and their families.
1. Direct Service: Provides direct service in Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), provides IBI in a one-on-one or group setting, monitors clients progress and effectiveness of individual programs, prepare teaching materials
2. Administration: collects data and records findings, writes communication notes, updates program binders and individualized programs based on client progress, assists in the training and supervision of Instructor Therapists
Knowledge: Working as a part of a team, Lead Therapists must have a solid knowledge of the autism spectrum and of the Verbal Behaviour and Intensive Behavioural Intervention approach. Basic computer skills are essential.
Organizational, Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Lead Therapists are expected to act as leaders when it comes to training and overseeing Instructor Therapists and communicate in a professional manner with all staff.
Other: The Lead Therapist must successfully complete the mandatory training requirements.
Start Date: November 30, 2015
Hours: 30 hours/week
Benefits: Candidate is eligible for 80% coverage of health and dental services after successful completion of the training requirements.
