As part of the Case Management team, the major responsibility for this position is to act as the primary contact person for claims from injured workers, with overall responsibility for the explanation and communication of information internally and externally.
The role includes managing the delivery of client services in complex, serious and/or longer term work injury claims; coordinating medical intervention; communicating decisions to concerned parties; responding to inquiries and complaints; authorizing payment of benefits and coordinating referrals of clients to internal and external programs in order to facilitate return of the client to work.
The Case Manager position requires strong multi-tasking skills and ability to handle large volumes of administrative tasks.
Qualifications include a degree in business administration, health care, education, social sciences or disability management plus one year case management experience or a two year diploma in one of the aforementioned disciplines plus four years case management experience. Case management is defined as responsibility for an assigned client caseload and accountability for all decisions and actions that impact individual clients.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential including the ability to articulate and explain details and disseminate information. Computer competence, knowledge of the return to work process, conflict management and facilitation skills are also key requirements for the position.
This position is a field position. As such, it is necessary for an individual to have a valid class 5 drivers license to occupy the position.
Please note that travel for training may be required. Training may take place in Regina or Saskatoon or alternate between both locations.
