Description

Summary:    
The Accounting Clerk is a support position who is supervised daily by the Accounting Supervisor with overall accountability to the Director of Operations. He/She is responsible for maintaining an accurate record of all business transactions of the Sakimay First Nations including: having a sound knowledge of the financial policies of the Sakimay First Nations; adhering to the financial policies when processing transactions; assisting in the preparation of regular financial reports as required by the Chief & Council and ensuring that the general accounting system is current and up to date by applying general accounting principles.
A) Possess knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
B) At least two (2) years of practical experience and/or two (2) years of related technical training.
C) Knowledge and ability to operate a computer and be familiar with the following software:  ACC PAC accounting system, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
D) Knowledge of effective office procedures, techniques, and data processing.
E) Knowledge of First Nation government and service delivery programming.
F) Ability to analyze and prepare written reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
G) Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with the Membership, Chief & Council, fellow employees, the general public, and external funding agencies.
H) Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
I) Ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
J) Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle would be an asset.
K) Be bondable.
L)Willing to submit pre-employment drug screen with application.
M)Submission of Criminal record check included with application.
