Job Description: JOB CONTEXT:

As demands for service change and increase, the Manager of Laboratory Services collaborates with the Manager of Medical Imaging to provide the health region with a high level of quality, while working within constraints set by capital, collective bargaining agreements, human resources and physical arrangements.  This position requires the incumbent to lead a large group of employees to develop effective problem solving skills in the efficient delivery of services to a demanding group of stakeholders.

Position authority includes staffing, scheduling, budget, development and revision of policies and procedures, selection of capital and non-capital equipment and supplies, updating techniques and medical liaison issues.  

Careful coordination of work and effective time management skills are required to effectively manage the scope of the position within the region.


37.5 hours in 1 week rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Medical Laboratory Technologist Diploma or a Bachelors degree in health services
-3-5 years experience in the health services field
-3-5 years management experience
-Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science; licensed and registered by the Saskatchewan Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists
