Job Description: The Executive Secretary reports to the Director of Health Services - South and is accountable for maintaining and promoting an efficient office environment and providing confidential secretarial support to St. Peter's Hospital, St. Anthony's Hospital and Sunrise Health Region Directors/Managers to assist them in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
In the absence of the St. Peter's Hospital Executive Secretary; the Melville and District Health Centre Executive Secretary provides back up services to ensure full coverage Monday to Friday, except statutory holidays.
Required Qualifications
Grade 12
Graduate of a recognized secretarial science program/commercial college
Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent organizational abilities
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
High level of competency
Typing speed of 60 wpm
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to produce professional documents including letters, brochures, posters and signs utilizing various computer applications
Must be proficient in all computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation applications
An understanding and commitment to the vision, mission and values of the region
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail
