Parkland College is currently seeking an Essential Skills Regional Facilitator for a Transitions Program. The regions will include Kahkawistahaw & Keeseekoose First Nations.
This is a term position from October 26, 2015 - March 17, 2016, for a total of 74 days.
The successful incumbent will be primarily responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering and facilitating life skills, career development and employ-ability training. The program goal is to help build workforce skills within participants.
Qualifications:
Education
- Two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent in Human or Social Services or Behavioral Sciences field or a Journeyperson trade certificate.
- This education would typically provide knowledge in group facilitation, adult education methodology, Essential Skills and counseling skills.
Experience
- Two years recent and relevant experience.
- This experience would typically provide skills required to provide career information, to effectively liaise with employers or funding agencies and to develop needs based approaches to workshop development and delivery and with Essential Skills programming.
- Previous experience working with First Nations students is preferred.
