The Opportunity
Reporting to the Superintendent of Operations, Horizon School Division is seeking a dynamic individual to provide strategic direction and leadership for the overall transportation operations of the division.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Establishes the overall vision and direction for the implementation of the internal operations;
Provide effective leadership for the operational team, including Drivers, Service Personnel, Supervisors and Contractors;
Maintaining a strong safety culture and monitoring safety processes/training;
Meet regularly with department heads/corporate services leaders;
Responsible for collaborating with Human Resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet requirements of the service;
Manage the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong client centered ethic for dealing with parents, principals, ministry and employees;
Handle parent enquiries and analyze concerns and present options to solve and prevent issues;
Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to school division policies and procedures, and government regulations;
Related duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelors degree would be considered an asset;
Minimum requirements are college diploma in business administration, transportation administration, or engineering;
