Jans Bay School is a modern Pre-K-8 facility with four classrooms and a library. Currently, there are approximately 55 students enrolled at the school with 3 teachers and 1 paraprofessional. The students and staff are energetic and enthusiastic and enjoy infusing the Metis culture into the school program. Jans Bay is a settlement of 150 people located on the shores of Canoe Lake. The town is only a 20 minute drive, on gravel highway, from Beauval, SK. This is an attractive community in a lovely part of Northern Saskatchewan.
Qualifications should include:
- Energy and passion for the power of learning in a student's life
- A proven ability to engage students in a meaningful way through the building of powerful relationships built on respect, trust, and a genuine care for students
- An eagerness to work closely with the community, students, and the school to build a successful program
- Eligibility for a Saskatchewan Professional A certificate
This is a temporary, full time position starting as soon as possible until June 30, 2016. Salary is according to the provincial grid plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.
