Job Description: GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Athabasca Health Authority is seeking the services of a Physiotherapist for one (1) week per month in the Athabasca Basin. The Physiotherapist will provide care to ensure efficient, effective and safe physiotherapy to patients/clients/residents. The provision of health care services includes but is not limited to, observing and assessing the health status of patients/clients/residents for effective planning, implementing and evaluating of physiotherapy care. The Physiotherapist will establish exercise programs, which are required to compliment physiotherapy care services for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, preventing illness and alleviating suffering.



This is a community based position that works with a case load of pediatrics, home care, as well as, pre and post-surgical patients. The physiotherapist will be required to travel throughout the Athabasca Basin to provide physiotherapy services.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current registration with the Saskatchewan College of Physiotherapists (SCPT)

- Current certificate Level C, Basic Cardiac Life Support.

- Strong communication and public relation skills.

- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Search.

- Willing to reside in the Athabasca Basin for one (1) week per month.

- Knowledge of the Dene language would be considered an asset.

Please Note: This is an independent service contract position ending March 31, 2016. Contracts are assessed and renewed on an annual basis.
