Description

Under the leadership of the Councillor in charge of Economic Development and the supervision of the economic development manager, the Ski Hill Manager will oversee all operations of the resort. The incumbent performs high level administrative, technical, and professional work in furthering the activities and operations of the Ochapowace ski resort programs and activities. The manager will liaise closely with the Economic Director Manager on the ski operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of individuals and groups
- Ensures team provides excellent guest services and handles all complaints immediately and in a professional manner
- Recommends training for all management and staff
- Develops, administers and recommends the annual operating budget, including revenue forecasts, and capital improvement budget for the Ski operation
- Monitors performance and effectiveness, adjusting operations as necessary to meet or exceed revenue goals
- Establishes and/or reviews guidelines for Ski pass, ticket and other Ski product pricing policies
- Develops operation policies as required
- Perpares and makes monthly presentations to the Economic Development Board on Ski Resort business
- Develop weekly, monthly, and annual plans in conjunction with the board and report on the progress of these plans
- Identify additional winter revenue streams that may include, weekend/night skiing and snowboarding events, etc.
- Liaise and work closely with Saskatchewan Tourism and other agencies to promote the resort and winter tourism activities
- Develop marketing and advertising strategies and plans including implementation, coordination, and evaluations of plans
- Assists in hiring, disciplining and termination of staff
- Maintains inventories and efficient management systems and controls
- Ensures resort equipment and supplies are maintained
