Somerville Farms (2014) Ltd. is currently taking applications for the position of a Journeyman Truck & Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Mechanic. We are a commercial transportation company involved in transporting bulk commodities throughout the  western provinces. Experience with Farm Machinery Mechanics would be an asset. Duties would commence approximately Nov 1st in a new, modern four-bay facility with attached full-length truck wash located in the Town of Eatonia in West Central Saskatchewan.
Duties would include upkeep & maintenance of company-owned transport equipment(trucks & trailers, payloaders & small industrial equipment).  Secondary would be farm equipment.
Saskatchewan Safeties on all transport equipment (must be able to be certified to carry out safeties).  Brake work, suspension, clutches, transmission, rear end, engine, electrical diagnoses.  Maintain a clean, safe environment in and around the shop.  Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical problems and rectify as needed.
Keep accurate records of duties performed.
Complete work orders and enter technician notes into computer.
Applicant must be punctual, a decision maker and be comfortable dealing with the public.  Must be able to communicate well with the public in a courteous manner and be a strong team player.
Computer skills would be an asset but can train on the job(computerized inventory control and work orders).  Preference will be given to persons willing to take a leadership role in running the day to day operation of the shop and overseeing other employees within the shop.  Must have a strong work ethic and be knowledgeable in the related fields, be willing to report to management on a timely basis and be willing to discuss problems or concerns with management as issues arise and deal with them in a timely manner.
Wages negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
