POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for conducting environmental monitoring and inspections, collecting daily samples, measuring and recording of data, as well as assisting the site environment lab while building technical skills and knowledge through applied practice and mentorship. In addition, you will apply a practical understanding of codes, regulations and policies to the work area.
This is a temporary position.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Environmental monitoring technician certificate or diploma
Minimum of six months of relevant work experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
An understanding of governing acts, procedures and policies that apply to the work area
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as problem-solving abilities
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Familiarity with Microsoft office applications
Field experience, including operation and maintenance of boats and recreational vehicles and any related operator training/certification
Data entry, computer and database experience
