The School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Health to start January 1, 2016.

The position involves the teaching of public health courses (including Foundations of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Public Health Practice) in the professional Master of Public Health Program (MPH) of the School. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to have strong expertise in a substantive area of public health and to develop a strong research program supervising graduate students at both the MSc and PhD levels.

Candidates must have a PhD in public health or related discipline. Necessary qualifications for the position include demonstrated effectiveness in teaching (through student evaluations), evidence of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications), and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Candidates with expertise in one of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:  leadership, communication, and Aboriginal health. The successful candidate will either have the potential to, or proven ability to, develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program in one of the above-listed public health areas and to obtain grants for his/her own research. The successful candidate is expected to be collaborative and contribute to building successful research programs in population and public health.

The University of Saskatchewan offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
