The Core Neighbourhoods at Work program supports adults and youth who reside in the Core Neighbourhoods of Saskatoon in their efforts at obtaining training, education and employment. Quint is seeking a dynamic individual to fill an Employment Coordinator Position- 1 year maternity leave.
In order to excel in the job, an Employment coordinator must:
Have good problem solving skills, be resourceful and take the initiative when needed.
Have a good understanding and knowledge of labour market needs, education and training programs, and other community services that address employment barriers in Saskatoon.
Be able to work independently and collaboratively and to be organized in their work to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Have excellent documentation and reporting skills, with specific attention to detail
Have experience building meaningful relationships with community members, including the Aboriginal community
Demonstrate knowledge in career counselling and group facilitation
Hold a valid drivers license and have access to a vehicle
Provide a criminal record check
Knowledge and Education:
Understanding of community economic development practices.
Understanding of the issues individuals with barriers to self reliance face
Grade 12 with relevant post secondary education and/or experience
Duties:
Assess the capacity of adults based upon career goals that are set and connect them to or develop appropriate training, education, and employment opportunities.
Provide pre and post employment support to participants as necessary
Liaise between individuals,CBOs, educational facilities, and employers to discuss the market needs and skills needed by employers for positions.
To develop strong partnerships within the community through presentations and by attending community gatherings and luncheons.
Maintain file records and statistics on caseload and daily work to assist in case management of individuals
