Description

The Safety and Compliance Officer reports to the general manager of the Company, and provides support to the construction staff.  The Safety and Compliance Officer is the key person involved in executing safety and compliance throughout the company.
Responsibilities
Responsible for following the policies and procedures of Peters Excavating as set by the management team.
Responsible for positively representing Peters Excavating.
Responsible for participating and executing in the Health and Safety Program.
Responsible for fostering good communication with fellow employees.
Responsible for the quality of worked performed.
Responsible for participating in training sessions.
Duties
Communicate positive ideas and work effectively with all employees.
Follow and Promote Peters Excavating Policies and Procedures.
Manage all Personal Protective Equipment required by the company.
Maintain and administer fire drills.
Organize and lead company safety meetings.
Participate in training.
Coordinate training required by the organization.
Follow OH&S Acts and Regulations and be familiar with industry standards.
Develop and maintain the Company Safety Manual.
Ensure accurate completion of all documents.
Perform all site inspections on a regular basis.
Perform new hire safety orientation.
Arrange hearing tests for new and continuous employees.
Update company MSDSs.
Perform all incident investigations and inspections.
Administrating Workers Compensation claims.
Monitor company safety bonus.
Requirements
Industry related experience
Must hold and maintain a Valid Drivers License.
