Description

This position is a one year contract as a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist in Lloydminster.   Starting wage is $25-30/hr depending on education and experience/education, and the work schedule consists of 8 hour work days with flexible hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.; some overtime may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
    Edit and create Word and Excel documents
    Contact vendors and stakeholders to settle on terms and conditions
    Research vendors and evaluate service offerings
    Edit Decision Summaries and forward for approval
    Contact potential and current vendors for rate sheets - evaluate and compare
    Request for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP)
    Includes preparation of all documents and send to stakeholders for feedback
    Lead pre-bid meetings/site visits with vendors and stakeholders
    Receive and evaluate RFQs and RFPS from vendors
    Looking for someone with quite a bit of bidding and contract experience;
    Ordering of material, expediting, bid comparisons;
    Forming contract documents in accordance with company standards, the objective being to adhere to all terms and conditions and being the commercial liaison with Legal, Risk Management, Health & Safety, Engineering and Operations personnel.
    Negotiating commercial vendor contracts, clarifying scope of work and legal terms.
    Multi-tasking with the ability to work with many projects.
    Work closely with Legal and Accounting groups with thoroughness and attention to detail.

Qualifications:
    Experience with procurement roles, responsibilities, and general business practices is a must.
    Should have strong technical writing skills, good verbal, and other written communication skills.
    A strong aptitude for computers Microsoft Excel and MS Word are a must and SAP experience would be helpful;
    Excellent interpersonal skills with the team, vendors, contracts, clients, etc.
    Experience in procurement, purchasing and inventory control a must.
