Description

BASIC PURPOSE:  
Coordinate implementation of process improvements that increase production effectiveness, in accordance with the short-term needs and long term goals of Highline Manufacturing.
Use Lean tools to eliminate waste and promote flow.
Assist in the planning, management, and administration of projects related to process improvement.

DUTIES:
Process analysis involving observation of and interaction with the production team on the shop floor.
Gauge performance of specific value streams, identify bottlenecks, and suggest/implement necessary changes as required.
Design processes and process layouts using lean principles to minimize waste.
Development of safe work. Including process, cell layout, work methods, job instructions, training, and equipment.
Coordinate activities between design, tooling, and production to smooth implementation of new products.
Development and documentation of standard work.
Review engineering drawings before release.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Engineering degree
2 to 5 years of related experience
Strong computer skills including knowledge of inventory systems,  Excel, and Solidworks
Strong organisational and project management skills
Well developed interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent understanding of lean methodology and tools as well as their application
Good understanding of various shop processes, their costs and the tolerances they are capable of holding.
Understanding of standard times and production incentive systems
High degree of analytical thought and creativity
