We are a fast growing, locally owned flooring with a large showroom & warehouse on Jasper Ave. We carry high quality products at a reasonable price, in a fun, relaxed retail environment & we pride ourselves on our high level of customer service.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Accounting Assistant, you will mainly be helping us out with accounting-related tasks. These tasks include managing our accounts receivable and accounts payable; cash postings and bank reconciliations; job costing; point of sale processing; helping out in reception; regulatory reporting, such as PST, GST, and WCB; administrative support; assisting with payroll, month-ends and year-ends, and inventory management. Other duties may come up, as required. You will be keeping everything together behind the scenes!
What You Need to Have
Our store is busy, and it gets busier all the time, so we need you to be able to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, and have excellent time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines. Being a hardworking and self-motivated individual, while still being a reliable team player is necessary. You need to have an attention to detail and excellent communication and problem solving skills. Since our business is busy, priorities can change quickly - you will need to be flexible and adapt to these changes in a professional manner. You need to have a minimum of a 3rd level CGA, or similar, accounting education; and, have at least 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment. And, proficiency with Excel, Word and accounting software is a must.
