This is a temporary full-time position responsible for a variety of career and educational advising duties with students and the general public. The primary (but not all-inclusive) regions covered are; Weyburn, Indian Head, Assiniboia, Carry-the-kettle and, Cowessess.
This position may be based from either Indian Head or Weyburn.
Education
The minimum relevant knowledge or essential formal training is a relevant bachelors degree or academic equivalent. This education would provide knowledge in career counselling, adult education, group facilitation, testing and assessment, workshop development, analytical and research skills.
Experience
The minimum practical related experience required is two years. This experience would provide skills in communication, assessment, group facilitation, career planning, and working as part of a holistic, multi-disciplinary team.
Preference may be given to persons of First Nations ancestry and/or those with extensive experience working with First Nations peoples.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires a basic knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of career development theory, counselling ethics and adult learning theory
Demonstrated experience in working with people from equity groups in a cross-cultural setting, and in a collaborative, team setting.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications.
Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral, and effective public relations skills.
Demonstrated ability to plan, and facilitate adult workshops.
Must be prepared to schedule hours of work according to the demands of the position including evenings and weekends when necessary (field hours)
Must possess a valid drivers license and be willing to travel
