The Department of Soil Science, College of Agriculture and Bioresources, in partnership with the Toxicology Program, at the University of Saskatchewan invite applications for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor in the areas of contaminated site assessment, remediation and/or reclamation beginning July 1, 2015 or soon thereafter. The Department of Soil Science and the Toxicology Program seek an individual who is passionate about teaching and research related to contaminated sites and understanding how contaminants in terrestrial systems move through, interact with, and influence the soil environment. This position is associated with the Northern Ecosystem Toxicology Initiative (NETI) coordinated through the Toxicology Centre and creates an exciting opportunity to join an engaged community of soil science and toxicology scholars.
Candidates will have a Ph.D. in soil science, toxicology, or an equivalent field. For appointment at the level of assistant professor, there should be strong evidence of the ability to introduce an in-depth field based program of research related to the assessment and/or restoration of contaminated sites, or contaminant transport and exposure modeling in terrestrial systems. Evidence of high quality post-secondary teaching is an asset. All candidates should have a demonstrated ability to operate as a team player in a collegial environment and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
