Description

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing manufacturing and warehousing in our Saskatoon processing facility.  The Director will be responsible for improving logistics capabilities through strategic planning and leveraging best practices

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    Support the plans and activities associated allocating the movement of quinoa grain and food products both incoming and outgoing with the effective management of warehouse safety, quality, performance, service, asset stewardship and cost for the facility
    Ensure that productivity and cost targets are achieved  
    Perform analysis on safety metrics to proactively manage IFR (Injury Frequency Rate/OSHA rate) reduction trends. Ensure operations are in compliance with regulatory and company safety policies, programs, and expectations
    Establish food safety programs that are compliant with HACCP and regulatory guidelines
    Develop training programs for standard operating procedures pertaining to employees and food safety
    Champion the use of lean six sigma processes and best practices to maximize efficiency, reduce cost and increase supply chain value in manufacturing and warehousing operations
    Execute strategic and tactical plans for achieving objectives and key results
    Mentor and develop bench strength to prepare individuals for the next level of leadership
    Determine best practices related to investing and managing equipment through effective life cycle maintenance and replacement processes
    Ensure effective asset management, energy conservation, environmental compliance and overall facility maintenance
    Benchmark facilities costs and pricing to ensure competitive levels are maintained
    Develop and support operations with efficient manufacturing and warehouse layout and slot optimization best practices to improve facility capacity and labor productivity
    Partner with all levels of management, internal/external business partners, vendors and customers
