David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Construction Project Coordinator.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Construction Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the overall planning and coordinating of construction activities to ensure utility projects are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
The Role:
Supports the Project Manager through undertaking:
Liaison with owner, client, consultant and the public.
Assists with the preparation and maintenance of project schedule.
Assists with the preparation and tracking of payment request, invoices and estimates.
Assists with the setup, issuance of documentation, pricing and change administration.
Defines the subcontract scope of work, answers inquiries (RFI's) and monitors progress.
Monitor and track equipment and resources inventory.
Involved in the project closeout activities by coordinating documentation including deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments.
Works with the Project Manager to establish a cost reporting system for all project components including labour, equipment and materials.
Maintains all QA / QC documentation, maintains records of all testing and inspections. Ensures that all technical aspects of the work conform to all applicable codes and standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
A Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering degree, or a graduate of a technical diploma program, or Business Management program is considered an asset.
3 - 5 years construction experience as a Project Coordinator and within various phases of project administration.
Technical knowledge of all project components, including: construction design, finance, industry and company practices, processes, and standards.
Sound computer skills - MS Excel / Lotus, MS Word , MS Project, AutoCad.
Strong communication skills - oral and written.
Valid driver's license.
