Description

The City of Prince Albert invites applications for the permanent position of Engineering Technician II in the Public Works Department.

The role of the Engineering Technician II is to assist the planning and engineering staff of the department in the day to day operation of Municipal projects and utility works.

Duties may include surveying/inspecting city projects, processing field data to create working drawings, digital terrain and contour models and subdivision layouts, using a variety of CADD (Computer Assisted Design and Drafting) software, develop and maintain geographical information system, engineering databases and digital maps using GIS software, preparing cost estimates, keeping technical records, traffic counts and accident reports, perform project supervision on subdivision, capital works, maintenance and utility projects, performing other engineering testing such as obtaining and preparing water samples and conducting standard gravel field tests.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Completion of a Certificate in Survey or Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized Technical Institute.
-Certification or eligibility for certification, as an Applied Science Technician with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians.
-Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
