Reporting to the Manager, Verification, this position provides day-to-day direction and management, leadership, coaching and training to subordinates. Other duties include:
Provide expertise and contribute to the analysis and formulation of internal policy, procedures, and service strategies.
Enable program integrity by ensuring that program standards are monitored and enforced.
Review and approve applications within second signature signing authority for compliance with program guidelines and reasonability.
Explain program guidelines and procedures to subordinates, internal and external customers.
The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through a diploma in Agriculture, Accounting, Commerce or Administration, supplemented by a minimum of two years management experience.
Knowledge of accounting principles, the agriculture industry and farm tax.
An agricultural background with knowledge of current farm practices.
Strong management, decision-making and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal, public relations skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Preference will be given to those with knowledge of the AgriStability program.
The successful candidate must present a work ethic supporting our corporate values and Saskatchewan agriculture, must provide an acceptable criminal record check and should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing.
