The Provincial Emergency Communications Centre is seeking career minded individuals that are interested in a rewarding career in emergency communications.
Our Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are one of three Public Safety Answering Points (9-1-1) in the Province, provide helpdesk and dispatching services for numerous government agencies and fire departments within our Province.
Our highly developed internal training process is comprised of a combination of classroom and on the job mentorship training. The training program is broken down into the areas of Helpdesk, Enforcement Dispatch, 9-1-1 Calltaking and Fire Dispatching.
During the training process, candidates will work rotational shifts, fulltime hours. Once all components of training are successfully completed, applicants will be eligible to apply for permanent fulltime employment with our organization.
Candidates must:
Have minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
Provide accredited documentation supporting a minimum 50 words per minute typing speed.
Have valid training in standard First Aid/CPR.
Provide results of a Hearing Test.
Obtain and provide results of a clear criminal record check.
Be able and willing to work shift work on a rotational basis.
Candidates will be subject to interview and testing procedures.
