Description

Summary:   The Kahkewistahaw First Nation is seeking a highly motivated, patient, caring individual with a friendly and pleasant personality to fill the permanent full-time position of Daycare Assistant.
The role of the Daycare Assistant is to provide care, learning opportunities and follow programming for school age children. The Daycare Assistant shall be responsible for providing a safe and healthy learning environment for the children enrolled. The Daycare Assistant reports directly to the Daycare Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

a)    Early Childhood Development with work experience.
b)    Certificate in First Aid and CPR from a recognized institution.
c)    Certificate in Safe Food Handling from a recognized institution.
d)    Must be able to prepare reports to immediate supervisor and education committee.
e)    Be able to assist in planning and providing programs which include outings that meet the safety, emotional and special needs of the children.  
f)    Must be able to work as a team and follow direction.  
g)    Be punctual, dependable and be willing to take direction.
h)    Must have good written and oral communication skills to effectively deal with band members, employees, external agencies and Chief and Council.
i)    Be able work with other employees and work with minimum supervision.
j)    Must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
k)    Possess a valid driver?s license, own a reliable vehicle.
l)    Submit a Current pre-employment drug screen with resume/application.
m)    Submit a Current Vunerable Sector Check with resume/application.
n)    Three (3) current written references with resume/application.
