Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-  Work with the Head Start Coordinator in providing and facilitating Head Start programming that focuses on First Nation traditions and culture.
-  Assist in planning and providing programs which include field trips that meet the safety, emotional and special needs of the children.
-  Provide for the welfare and safety of the children during both on and off site activities.
-Ensure daily recording of the names, ages and parent/guardian names and making note of any special needs: i.e. Development assessments, allergies, dietary concerns or other relevant matters.
-  Observe the behavior of the children and any special needs or concerns including behavior, physical or emotional, or health and to record such observations on each child in the corresponding file.
-  Participate in professional development opportunities when available.
-  Any other duties assigned by the Head Start Coordinator.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-  Grade Twelve (12) or GED, and/or Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
-  Ability to work and communicate with children on a daily basis.
-  Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and employees.
-  Have sound knowledge of how the Kahkewistahaw First Nation policies and regulations that are administered.
-  Have CPR/First Aid training and WHMIS Certification.
-  Have safe food handing Certificate preferred.
-  Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW  THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED :
-  Current Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector
-  Current Drug Screen Results from a member in good standing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
-  Cover Letter and Resume
-  Three (3) written references
-  Copies of all certificates
