Description

Saskatchewan Alternative Initiative (SAI) is a leader in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in the areas of Home Support, Day Program and Semi-Independent Living. We are currently looking for an Assistant Team Leader within our Home Support program.

Primary Role Focus:
Providing high quality support to the individuals and working together with their team and Team Leader to ensure goals and objectives are met.
-Reports to the Team Leader

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and lifestyle planning consistent with SAIs beliefs, values and Gentle Teaching philosophy.
Support to individuals may include:
- Provide direct support to the individuals and work towards their overall satisfaction.
- Follow through on team decisions, support plans and directions from the Team Leader and/or Coordinator.
- Participate in the development, support and delivery of individual plans.
- Develop relationships with individuals, families and friends of the people supported.
- Option development.
- Support Team supervision.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Strong team building, organizational and communication skills.
Strong team work and collaboration.
Experience providing hands-on support for people with disabilities.
Related post-secondary education is an asset.
Working knowledge of the following is an asset:
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention Techniques
- Augmentative Communication
Direct experience or knowledge in Gentle Teaching is an asset.
