St. Peters College is located in Muenster, SK, approximately 120 km east of Saskatoon. We pride ourselves on teaching excellence, small class sizes, and our collegial atmosphere.
In consultation with the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan, St. Peters College is recruiting a Sessional Lecturer to teach the NUTR 120.3 Basic Nutrition course to students at St. Peters College in Term 2 of the coming academic year. The course runs from January 5 to April 7, and is scheduled on Fridays from 1:00-3:50 p.m. (thirteen sessions in total). There will be a final examination scheduled later in April (TBA).
Nutrition 120.3 is the introduction to nutrition and health. The concepts of recommended nutrient intakes and dietary guidelines are introduced. The major nutrients and their functions in the body are outlined. Nutrition issues facing the general public are presented.
The College will provide the instructor with the text, background materials including a test bank of questions. The Sessional Lecturer stipend is $6,606, plus mileage (as needed) to a maximum of 240 km per week at a rate of 49.5 cents per km.
Applicants require an undergraduate degree in Nutrition or related field, and preferably a graduate degree; registration as a professional dietitian preferred; and relevant experience in nutrition is required. Good communication skills are essential, and previous teaching experience will be an asset.
