The Department of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan (www.usask.ca) and the Saskatoon Health Region invite applications for a University faculty position (five-year term) in the Division of Gastroenterology at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Responsibilities will include teaching, research and patient care. Preference will be given to applicants with a focus in research and/or education, with special expertise in IBD.
Located at the Royal University Hospital, the Multidisciplinary IBD clinic is an interdisciplinary team that works holistically with patients and their families to assess, treat, and manage IBD (www.mdibdc.com). The MDIBDC team includes 5 gastroenterologists, a colorectal surgeon, a nurse practitioner, a nurse clinician, a dietitian, and a clinical health psychologist. Collectively, we follow over 2,000 patients with IBD. Infrastructure is built into the clinic to allow a seamless integration of clinical research with the delivery of clinical care. Investigator initiated research as well as Industry sponsored clinical trials are conducted in the clinic, with support from multiple research coordinators.
Canadian certification in gastroenterology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is required. Masters level postgraduate training is beneficial.
