Unique Contract Interiors (UNCI) is a family owned business which has been in operation for over 26 years. UNCI specializes in manufacturing, supplying, and installing custom commercial restaurant and hospitality furniture throughout Canada.
Due to the company's growth, UNCI is looking for a permanent full-time Upholsterer to work in the Upholstery Department. Please see the job duties and qualifications below for this position:
Duties:
- Upholstering restaurant booths, chairs, barstool, and custom furniture.
- Foaming and preparing booth and chair frames for upholstery.
- Disassembling and stripping existing fabric off of booth frames, chairs, and barstools.
- Being a team player by motivating and working well with others.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years upholstery experience with either commercial or residential furniture.
- Education: Completion of Grade 12 min. and must be able to speak and write English.
- Understanding of different types of fabrics, vinyls, and leathers is an asset.
- Must have knowledge of basic power tools, industrial staplers, and hand tools.
- Must be physically fit to stand for long periods. Also, must be able to pull fabric materials and lift up to 60 lbs.
Experience for this position is considered an asset but UNCI is willing to train the right candidate for this position if needed in which case wages may vary. A health and dental benefits package is available after the 3 month probationary period.
