You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery, equipment and trucks/trailers. You will provide mentorship to the apprentices and shop helpers and review and spot check their work. Key skills are mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, communication and organization.
Key Responsibilities include:
Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on equipment and trucks/trailers.
Troubleshoot including diagnosing irregularities and malfunctions, making adjustments, and repairing or replacing parts.
Detect malfunctions through sensory tests which are often confirmed by technical tests.
Track maintenance and book maintenance schedule.
Lead preventative maintenance and safety inspections, as well as attend safety meetings as required.
Requirements of the Position:
Journeyperson ticket in truck and transport or heavy equipment mechanic.
Five (5) years of work experience in an industrial work setting working with heavy truck and trailers.
