24 HR Animal Care Centre is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As an AAHA accredited practice, we provide high-quality care to all of our patients and are looking for individuals who can help us do just that. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the drive to succeed. To join our team the applicant must be friendly, personable, reliable, punctual, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
The main job duties required of our Veterinary Assistants are to maintain clinic cleanliness and sterility, while also providing basic patient care such as feeding and providing walks. Advanced assistant duties include assisting with proper patient handling and positioning for such things as sample collection, catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, wound care, etc.
Being a 24 hour clinic, shift work is a mandatory component of our business. As such, the candidate will need to be flexible and open with their availability as the shifts will fall during days, nights, and weekends. The shifts are generally 12 hours and may vary anywhere from 8am to midnight, on a rotational basis.
