Description

Ground Effects is seeking individuals who are dedicated team members with a strong work ethic and positive attitude to fill the role of Mechanical Assemblers. This is work involves the assembly and fabrication, maintenance and repair of custom oilfield equipment.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of three-five years of experience in a manufacturing environment or previous comparable job experience in a mechanical role
- Experience with electrical schematics and systems in an industrial setting a definite asset
- Ability to read and follow blueprint drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Mechanically inclined
- Basic machining and welding skills (MIG, TIG, and stick/arc welding)
- Must be physically fit to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and innovative team environment
- Ability to quickly adapt to multiple projects

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts that include motors, pumps, piping, vessels, and vessel components using hand tools, power tools and hoisting equipment
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on pumps, motors, and vessel components
- Perform equipment maintenance and other various duties throughout the shop and yard as assigned
- Operate small crane/forklift to transport or position larger parts as required
- Perform work safely and follow established work procedures
- 80 hours per two week period (no weekend or shift work); some overtime may be required
