Description

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Saskatoon Health Region, invites applications for one full time Physiatrist
to participate in the clinical and academic mission of the department. The successful applicant will participate in neurological
and musculoskeletal rehabilitation as well as clinical teaching of medical students and residents within the department.

The position will include approximately 85% clinical work, 10% teaching and 5% clinical administration. This position will have a
community faculty appointment with the University of Saskatchewan. This combined academic and clinical department is located in the Rehabilitation Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital. There are currently 3 university faculty Physiatrists and 4 Physiatrists with community faculty appointments in Saskatoon. The department is highly integrated with Wascana Rehabilitation in Regina with 1 university and 2 community Physiatrists working there. The department is also very involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education including 10 PM&R residency positions in a fully RCPSC accredited residency program.

Inter-disciplinary rehabilitation teams, inpatient consultations, and outpatient clinics are components of the position. Time away from work for vacation and scholarly activities (up to 40 weekdays yearly) may be scheduled, in conjunction with other departmental members. We have a collaborative model of practice with a full interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that includes family physician hospitalists and nurse practitioners.
