DUTIES:
-Organizes and monitors the day-to-day activities leading up to the event, including securing a venue, preparation of promotional materials and promotion of the event, preparing a list of inventory of supplies materials and internal and external communication.
-Allocates appropriate space for each exhibitor and prepares a schedule of performances that includes time for practice or dress rehearsal as required
-Identify, recruit and build positive relationships with donors or sponsors
-Recruits volunteers including assigning of duties and scheduling
-Oversees collection of admission fees to the event, receiving donations or sponsorships and documentation of these transactions.
-Designs, distributes and collects feedback forms from performers, exhibitors and FOC attendees.
-Research standards for food safety and OH&S and ensures exhibitors are compliant with standards.
-Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Proven experience in working with immigrants and volunteers
-Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including presentation skills
-Knowledge of community resources
-Experience in fund raising through donations or fund raising events
-Excellent organization skills and proven ability to coordinate a program and/or project
-College diploma or University degree with major coursework in leisure services or a related field, hospitality management, marketing, public relations or communication, or special events planning program certificate to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
-First Aid/CPR
-Class 5 drivers license and a reliable vehicle
