POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Camecos Rabbit Lake operation offers a unique experience working in both a mining and milling environment. Working with the health and safety team, you will be responsible for supporting the workplace health and safety programs through education and leadership. Key functions of the position are:
Ensure compliance to all relevant regulatory requirements
Coaching and auditing of the safety program
Assist in the development and delivery of emergency response, fire and rescue training plans
Delivery of safety training programs
Incident command in times of crisis
Safety-related supervisor and employee training
Maintenance of safety equipment, fire hall and response trailers
Supervise and provide mentorship/leadership to safety technicians
Facilitate inspections, internal audits and incident investigations
Promote a good working relationship with other groups and departments
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Diploma in occupational health and safety, or relevant technology
Five to eight years of relevant work experience
Experience in emergency response training development and delivery
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Background in surface and underground emergency response
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Canadian registered safety professional (CRSP) or equivalent designation
Advanced first aid certificate
Mine rescue instructor
